Festival to continue for two more days

GIRARD -- The annual Girard Mount Carmel Festival continues today and Wednesday.
The annual celebration began Saturday at the Italian Fraternal Hall grounds, 33 W. Wilson Ave.
The Frank Gallo band will perform from 8 to 12 p.m. Tuesday at the hall, and food will be available along with games for children from 6 to 11:30 p.m.
The event is sponsored annually by the Girard Mount Carmel Festival Committee. Chairman Raymond Ragozzine, Jr. has offered his thanks to all of the committee members, including his co-chairman, Myron Esposito, and Dave Kay, who has handled the electrical work for the festival this year.
The annual Our Lady of Mount Carmel Procession will start at 10 am. Wednesday from the hall and travel to St. Rose Church for an 11 a.m. Mass.
St. Margaret's Band from New Castle, Pa., will perform from 8 to 11 p.m. Wednesday at the hall. Concessions will be open.
Fireworks by Zambelli Fireworks will wrap up the celebration at 11 p.m. Wednesday on the north side of the Girard-McDonald viaduct.
