Tri-T Colt (ages 15-17)
East Liverpool YMCA 4, Columbiana 3 -- Josh Weese pitched 6 2/3 innings for the win, and Mike Simpson picked up the save for East Liverpool. Weese also went 2-for-3, with a home run and three RBIs. Andy Lubich added two singles. For Columbiana, Tom DeChellis, Jeff Rypert, Drew Wagner and Pat Sposato singled. Wagner took the loss.
East Liverpool 5, Niles Buckeye 3 -- Josh Weese's two hits included a double for East Liverpool (18-2). Winning pitcher Steve Young gave up three hits and struck out 10 batters. Zach Campbell had an RBI single. For Niles (17-6), Jeff Painter, Mike Stanek and Eric Kelley singled.
Junior League (ages 13-14)
Boardman 10, Canfield 1 -- Corey Susany earned the pitching win. Dan McCarthy and Geoff Marple had two hits each, while Anthony Lavolpa, Eddie Rohan, Mark Carrocce, Susany, Michael Keller and Ricky Olesky had one. For Canfield, Bryan Stolte had two hits while Joey Carbon and Dave Nash doubled.
