CAMPBELL -- The board of education has named Robert Martinko as Memorial High School assistant principal and Damon Dohar as principal at Campbell Elementary-Middle School. Both positions take effect Aug. 1.
Martinko will make $65,240 a year, and Dohar will earn $66,455.
Ryan Stowell was hired as a new music teacher, taking the role of assistant high school band and summer band director.
Other new personnel at the elementary-middle school include a teacher, a special education teacher, two cook's helpers and five custodial helpers. The school district also hired two bus drivers for the 2003-04 school year.
Deliveryman robbed
YOUNGSTOWN -- A Main Moon restaurant deliveryman told police he was robbed at gunpoint in the 100 block of Lauderdale Avenue about 9:30 p.m. Monday.
The driver said he was supposed to deliver food to 118 Lauderdale but discovered there is no such address. The victim said two men, probably in their upper teens, approached. One opened the rear car door and demanded money and his cell phone. The victim complied and the robbers ran through rear yards.
Inmate walks away
YOUNGSTOWN -- Alvin G. Miller Jr., an inmate at the misdemeanant jail on Commerce Street, walked away from a grass cutting detail Monday morning.
Anyone who knows his whereabouts is asked to call the Mahoning County Sheriff's Department.
Miller was one of seven inmates out working when he left and walked north on Belmont Avenue, discarding his jail shirt along the way, according to Maj. Michael Budd.
Miller, 31, of South Hazelwood Avenue, was serving time in jail for driving under suspension. He was due out Dec. 29. He now faces an escape charge.
Public speaking program
BOARDMAN -- The Youngstown Executive Toastmasters will host a free public presentation, "Conquer Your Fear of Public Speaking," at 6:30 p.m. July 21 at Barnes & amp; Noble on Route 224.
Guest speaker will be Joan Dillilo, a presenter, professional speech coach and member of Toastmasters International.

Emily Queen Run
YOUNGSTOWN -- The Handle Bar, 1666 Mahoning Ave., will sponsor the Emily Queen Run on Saturday.
Signup will begin at 11 a.m., with the first bike leaving at 1 p.m. and the last bike in at 5 p.m.
Cost is $10 per person, and there will be food, door prizes, 50-50 raffles and cash prizes for top poker hands as well as entertainment.
Proceeds will go to Chloe Ann Cox, daughter of Jean Cox. Chloe has a form of spina bifida and other complications.
Sprayed in Struthers
STRUTHERS -- Cars belonging to a paramedic and an emergency medical technician were damaged while they were parked at Clemente Ambulance over the weekend.
According to a police report, a white 2002 Chevrolet Cavalier and a brown 2002 Oldsmobile Alero were both damaged by red overspray. The damage apparently occurred when a painting contractor spray-painted the exterior of Arby's restaurant, the police report states.
Hearing set in stabbing
STRUTHERS -- Rodney L. Smallwood, 39, of Hawthorne Street will appear in municipal court Aug. 15 for a preliminary hearing on charges of attempted murder and felonious assault in the stabbing of his live-in girlfriend, Coni J. Malovec.
According to police, Smallwood stabbed Malovec 10 times in her chest and back during the wee hours of June 19.
First aid, CPR classes
YOUNGSTOWN -- Classes in standard first-aid and CPR for adults, infants and children will be offered July 23 by the National Safety Council, Northern Ohio Chapter, at 25 E. Boardman St.
The CPR class is 8:30 a.m.-noon, and the first-aid class is 1-5 p.m.
