Austintown trustees issue order on grass



AUSTINTOWN -- Township trustees did the following at their meeting Monday:
UApproved street lighting for yet to be developed lots on Country Trail and Stoneyridge Drive in the Countryside Development.
UGave a 10-day ultimatum to owners of six properties on Mahoning Avenue, Burkey and Pembrook roads, and Meander and Signature drives to cut high grass. If the owners don't cut the grass, trustees will have it cut and bill them, said Trustee Chairman Rich Edwards. The grass ranges from 1 to 5 feet high.
UReceived notification that Ruby Tuesday's restaurant, which is scheduled to open July 29 at 5555 Mahoning Ave., has received its state liquor license.
UHeard police Lt. Mark Durkin present Patrolman Jeff Toth, Drug Abuse Resistance Education (DARE) officer, with a special recognition from U.S. Rep. Tim Ryan of Niles, D-17th.
UAnnounced that a Korean War Veterans' Memorial will be dedicated at 1 p.m. July 27 at Wickliffe Veterans Park in Wickliffe Circle.
