YANKEES Reliever Osuna activated; NY will pursue another

Starter David Wells has taken bereavement leave.
TORONTO (AP) -- Reliever Antonio Osuna was activated from the 15-day disabled list Saturday, giving the New York Yankees' bullpen a boost.
Osuna had been sidelined by a strained right groin since June 14.
"I'm 100 percent," he said. "I feel better coming back this time than I did the first."
The same injury landed him on the DL from April 23 through May 14.
Osuna was 2-2 with a 2.00 ERA in 24 games with the Yankees this season.
"It gives us another experienced guy who has closed games," said Yankees manager Joe Torre, who expects the team to add another veteran reliever by the July 31 trade deadline.
Torre said he and Yankees general manager Brian Cashman talk every day about adding an arm.
"Brian is talking to teams," Torre said.
The Yankees didn't have to make room on the roster for Osuna because David Wells is on bereavement leave. Wells is in San Diego for a memorial service for his grandfather.
The Yankees also announced that Raul Mondesi has mild tendinitis in his left wrist and is day-to-day. Mondesi was hurt swinging in his last at-bat in the Yankees' 8-5 victory over Toronto on Friday night.
"He's sore," Torre said. "He's not available to play."
Mariano Rivera, who sprained his right ankle in the eighth inning of Friday's game, said he was fine and available to pitch.
"I thought I twisted it real good, but I didn't," Rivera said. "It feels really good."
