CLEVELAND (AP) -- Danys Baez couldn't save the day. But he made sure he got the night.

CLEVELAND (AP) -- Danys Baez couldn't save the day. But he made sure he got the night.
Baez, whose two-run throwing error in the ninth inning cost Cleveland the opener of a doubleheader, survived another shaky ninth Saturday night as the Indians beat Chicago 4-2 for a split with the White Sox.
New arrival Travis Hafner had three RBIs and Jake Westbrook (4-4), recalled earlier in the day, got his first win since May 9 in the night game.
But not before Baez had another near meltdown.
"I learned a lot," Baez said. "That was a big situation for me, a chance for two saves in one day."
Spencer stars
Shane Spencer added a solo homer and made two nice catches in right field for the Indians, who bounced back from a gut-wrenching loss in the opener.
Paul Konerko hit a three-run homer in the 10th inning as the White Sox rallied for a 7-4 victory in the first game.
Just as they did in the opener, the Indians took a lead into the ninth of the night game and handed the ball to Baez, a former setup man and starter who is closing this season.
Baez, who threw away Cleveland's win in Game 1, gave up a leadoff single, a wild pitch and a walk before Indians manager Eric Wedge came out for a visit.
"He told him, 'Get one out at a time, not all in one pitch,' " catcher Tim Laker said. "Sometimes Danys comes in and he gets so emotional."
Baez said he was happy to see his manager.
"He went to the mound at the right time," Baez said. "I still had some emotion from the first game."
Jose Valentin followed with an RBI single off Baez, bringing the White Sox to 4-2 with two runners on and none out.
Baez gets save
But Baez struck out pinch-hitter Konerko looking, popped up pinch-hitter Frank Thomas and got Willie Harris on a fly to shallow left for his 21st save.
"He has everything you need to be a closer," Wedge said. "But so many of our young players, he too, has to go through some growing pains."
Hafner hit a pair of run-scoring doubles off Mike Porzio (0-1), who was brought up late Friday from Triple-A Charlotte to pitch Game 2.
The White Sox snapped a four-game losing streak by winning the opener, rallying to win for the first time in 41 games this season when trailing after eight innings.
"We'll take anything we can get to get us out of this funk," White Sox manager Jerry Manuel said. "Sometimes it just takes one little break."
Hafner, added to the roster when Matt Lawton went on the 15-day disabled list, put the Indians up 2-1 in the fourth inning of the night game with a two-out, two-run double.
Hafner came through again in the sixth. Spencer and Ricky Gutierrez singled, and Hafner hit a drive over center fielder Willie Harris' head.
Spencer scored on the play, but Gutierrez was thrown out at the plate by shortstop Valentin's strong relay throw.
Spencer made it 4-1 in the eighth with his seventh homer.
Westbrook allowed one run and three hits in five innings. The right-hander, who has bounced back and forth from the rotation to the bullpen, was making his first start since May 26.
Konerko connects
In the opener, Konerko hit a three-run homer -- his first with runners on this season -- in the 10th inning off Terry Mulholland (1-2) as the White Sox ended a six-game losing streak against Cleveland.
Chicago was one out from losing but scored two runs to tie it 4-4 when Baez fielded Roberto Alomar's high hopper and threw it past first.
Reliever Damaso Marte (3-1) got the win, and Tom Gordon earned his 100th career save. Gordon is the 14th pitcher with 100 career wins and saves.
