TORONTO -- Roy Halladay won his 13th straight decision and Vernon Wells homered as the Toronto Blue Jays ended a four-game losing streak with a 10-3 victory over the New York Yankees on Saturday.
Halladay (13-2) became the first 13-game winner in the majors.
The 26-year-old right-hander is the first Toronto pitcher to win 13 straight decisions since Roger Clemens won a club-record 15 in a row in 1998.
Halladay, who hasn't lost in 17 starts since April 15 against New York, allowed two runs on four hits in eight innings, striking out six and walking none.
Frank Catalanotto hit a go-ahead, two-run single off Mike Mussina (10-6) in the seventh, giving Toronto a 4-2 lead. The Blue Jays, who had 14 hits, broke it open with six runs in the eighth against New York's bullpen.
Reed Johnson drove in three runs for Toronto.
Good offense
Jason Giambi hit his 25th home run for the Yankees, who entered the day two games ahead of Boston for first place in the AL East.
New York reliever Chris Hammond allowed consecutive singles to Carlos Delgado and Greg Myers in the eighth before right fielder Karim Garcia dropped an easy fly ball for an error, which loaded the bases.
After Johnson hit a two-run double off Antonio Osuna, Howie Clark hit a two-run single and Jayson Werth an RBI double. Wells' RBI single off Al Reyes made it 10-2.
Mussina allowed four runs on eight hits in seven innings.
Wells hit his 23rd home run in the first inning, tying a career high he set last year. Johnson's two-out RBI single in the fourth gave Toronto a 2-0 lead.
Halladay allowed just one hit until Derek Jeter singled with two outs in the sixth and Giambi followed with his home run.

OAKLAND, Calif. -- Scott Hatteberg hit a tiebreaking, two-run homer in the eighth inning and Terrence Long had a three-run shot for Oakland.
The defending AL West champions won their fourth straight and matched their season high at 14 games over .500.
Jim Mecir (2-1) pitched a scoreless inning for the win and Keith Foulke worked the ninth for his 24th save in 28 chances.
Hector Carrasco (0-1) allowed a leadoff single to Mark Ellis in the eighth.
One out later, Hatteberg hit the first pitch he saw from Buddy Groom over the wall in right field for his seventh homer of the season. Hatteberg entered the at-bat 1-for-7 with three strikeouts lifetime against Groom.
Long connected for his 10th homer of the season on a 2-1 pitch from Pat Hentgen in the second, sending the ball into the right-field bleachers for a 3-0 lead.
Long, who has a five-game hitting streak, hit a tiebreaking double in the seventh Friday night. He said after that game that he's being more selective at the plate and it's paying off.
Long is batting .327 (18-for-55) over his last 16 games. His streak of 456 straight games played ended June 5 at Florida, but he's determined to convince the A's that he can still play every day.

Angels 6, Twins 1
ANAHEIM, Calif. -- Darin Erstad hit a tiebreaking two-run triple in the seventh inning and Jarrod Washburn pitched seven solid innings for Anaheim.
Scott Spiezio went 3-for-4 with an RBI single and sacrifice fly, helping the Angels win for the 11th time in 15 games. Washburn (8-9) allowed a run and five hits, striking out five and walking one.
With batting coach Scott Ullger running the Twins because of manager Ron Gardenhire's one-game suspension, Minnesota lost its seventh straight game -- the team's longest skid this season. The Twins, who lost to the Angels in last year's ALCS, are four games under .500.
Gardenhire was suspended in the aftermath of a beanball incident at Cleveland on July 3, when left-hander Kenny Rogers hit Milton Bradley with a pitch in retaliation for the Twins' two batters plunked by C.C. Sabathia. Rogers began serving his five-game suspension.
