Mount Calvary marks 200 years

UNITY -- Mount Calvary Community Church, 1993 Waterford Road, will celebrate its 200th anniversary from 3 to 8:30 p.m. Sunday.
There will be a King Family Concert at 7 p.m. At 3 p.m., there will be a dedication of a cornerstone at the brick church that was never carved. The stone will bear the date 1803.
Two denominations, German Reformed and Lutherans, began meeting in a log cabin at the site in 1802 or 1803. A brick church was built in 1823. The church later was called the Salem Evangelical and Reformed Church, and later became the Salem United Church of Christ.
The church is now nondenominational and has about 70 members.
