GIRARD Police search vehicle for clues in death

GIRARD -- Police have searched a vehicle they think was involved in the hit-and-run death of a mother of two last weekend.
Capt. Frank Bigowsky said his department will take the evidence it has collected and turn it over to the prosecutor, Robert Johnson. Bigowsky said it's possible that charges will be filed Monday.
He declined to identify the gender of the suspect, but said the driver lives in Girard.
The motorist surrendered the car to police Thursday. It was searched by city police and the state's Bureau of Criminal Identification and Investigation.
Bigowsky said BCI collected possible evidence for lab testing and examined dents in the vehicle.
Police have been asking for the public's help in solving the hit-and-run accident Sunday along U.S. Route 422 that left Michelle R. Touart, 37, of Dearborn Street, dead.
Touart was attempting to find a ride to Warren to visit friends when struck. The investigation had been hampered because there were no skid marks or debris from the vehicle left behind.
