NILES -- Fifth Street bridge will be closed from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Friday to make structural repairs.
Cortland social to begin
CORTLAND -- The 4th annual Lawn and Strawberry Social will be July 23 on the lawn of the Viets Museum, 224 N. High St.
The Cortland Community Band will be putting on a free concert at 6 p.m. The concert will feature several marches, patriotic music and Broadway showtunes. Refreshments will be for sale beginning at 5 p.m.
The Trumbull County Bicentennial Bell also will be on display. Ohio Bicentennial tapestry coverlets will be on sale for $50 each.
Ohio Bicentennial garden stones also will be sold for $20 each and will feature the communities of Cortland, Mecca and Bazetta.
A 50-50 raffle is planned.
All money raised will be used to improve the museum and its grounds.

Deadline nearing for camp
KINSMAN -- The deadline for Go Girl Go, a day camp that encourages a healthy body image and promotes self-esteem, self-respect and self-confidence among girls ages 9-15, is Aug. 8.
The camp will be from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Aug. 14 and 15 at Camp Sugarbush. The cost is $7 per girl and includes snacks, drinks and giveaways. Girls must bring a bagged lunch both days.

Communitywide yard sale
KINSMAN -- A communitywide yard sale will be here Saturday in conjunction with the annual Rotary Club chicken barbecue and fun fest.
Several businesses will have sidewalk sales. The Rexall Drug Store will have maps for bargain hunters.

Woman robbed at red light
YOUNGSTOWN -- A Hubbard woman said someone threw a brick through her closed car window and stole her purse as she waited at an East Side traffic light at about 11:45 p.m. Thursday.
City police reports say the woman, 39, told officers she was driving southbound on Verona Avenue at Albert Street when a man in his 30s threw the brick through the passenger's window, hitting the driver's seat. He stole $100, a leather purse, a cell phone and credit cards.
