Travel plaza in Hubbardpays sewer tap-in fee
HUBBARD -- Flying J Travel Plaza has paid its $95,019 sewer tap-in fee to the city. Though the facility opened in April, there was no late charge because the city doesn't have one, Auditor Michael Villano said Wednesday. Mayor George Praznik had said that Robert Toth, assistant city engineer, originally calculated the fee at $36,000. Calculating the fee was then turned over in April to MS Consultants Inc. of Youngstown, the city's engineering consultant. The water tap-in fee of $1,618 was paid Jan. 9.
Income tax notices
WARREN -- The city's income tax department has started sending out notices to all city residents who have filed 2001 income tax with the state but didn't file a 2001 income tax return with the city. The notice sent to those residents encourages them to telephone the city income tax department and to provide pertinent information. The comparison with city records vs. the state's records is necessary to identity nonfilers and to update city records for the taxpayers that may not have a tax liability to the city.

Hall, Warren 6th Ward council; and Niki Frenchko-Nagy, Warren 1st Ward council.
