CANFIELD -- Stephen C. VanSuch of Poland has completed course work required to earn the Certified Financial Planner TM designation. A Struthers native, VanSuch has been employed for four years at the Merrill Lynch offices in Youngstown and Canfield offices. He graduated from Westminster College and Struthers High School. POLAND -- Christopher McQueen, a Mahoning Valley native and 1995 Youngstown State University graduate, has been named Social Worker of the Year by the Senior Living Guide, a publication in Charlotte and Lee counties in Florida. McQueen is a discharge planner at Live Care Center in Punta Gorda, Fla., where he has been employed for five years. YOUNGSTOWN -- David J. Pieton, a Youngstown native employed by Pittsburgh accounting firm KFMR, has been designated an Accredited Senior Appraiser in Business Valuation by the American Society of Appraisers. Pieton, also a certified public accountant and certified valuation analyst, had to pass written and oral examinations and submit appraisal data to qualify for the ASA designation.YOUNGSTOWN -- Two local U.S. Bank employees were recognized for winning the company's Annual Pinnacle Award, its highest retail employee achievement honors. Venita Collins, in-store manager at U.S. Bank's office in the Newton Falls Giant Eagle, won the Pinnacle for the second time. Collins has worked in financial services for 23 years and joined U.S. Bank five years ago. A Diamond resident, she has a degree from Youngstown State University.Donald E Stimpert of Warren was a first-time winner. He is branch manager at U.S. Bank's office in the Giant Eagle store at 909 East Main Street in Ravenna. Stimpert joined the company three years ago and has worked in banking for 20 years.SHARON -- Associates in Counseling and Child Guidance was one of six businesses in Pennsylvania awarded the Psychologically Healthy Workplace Award by the Pennsylvania Psychological Association. The award recognizes agencies based on an evaluation of their policies, practices and programs, employee testimonials and interviews. The Sharon-based company won in the large, nonprofit business category.
