2 boys stopped for curfew, arrested on drug charges
YOUNGSTOWN -- Two boys out past curfew and with suspected crack cocaine in their car were arrested at 1:55 a.m. today in the parking lot of Stiles Market at Stiles Avenue and McGuffey Road, police said.
Police working a Gun Reduction and Interdiction Project detail arrested the driver, Dymond Ortello, 17, of Stewart Street, on charges of aggravated trafficking in cocaine and no driver's license and cited him for being out past the city's 11 p.m. curfew.
His rear-seat passenger, Lenny Vaughn, 16, of Berwick Avenue, was charged with drug trafficking and curfew violation. Police said they found three rocks of crack under the driver's seat and 18 rocks near the rear passenger seat.
A 14-year-old boy in the front seat was cited for curfew violation only. Police discovered that a pick-up order had been issued by juvenile court for a bystander, Jamil Vaughn, 19, of Berwick. Ortello, Lenny Vaughn and Jamil Vaughn were taken to the juvenile justice center.
