Rain delays paving at highway ramps
MERCER, Pa. -- Wet weather has delayed paving work on the entrance and exit ramps at U.S. Route 62 and Interstate 79 in Mercer County.
The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation had planned to close the ramps for milling and resurfacing Monday, but rain prevented crews from getting any work done, said spokesman Bill Marceau.
Rain today was expected to push the project back until at least Wednesday.
Marceau said the work will be done when it is dry enough to pave.
Traffic detours will be in place when the paving is to be done.
Meanwhile, work is under way on improvements on I-79 from the Crawford County line to the Lawrence County line.
Traffic will be limited to one lane both north and south and delays can be expected, Marceau said.
New concrete patches are to be poured sometime this week, depending on the weather, he said.
