Aeros lose 5-4
AKRON -- Rich Lane hit a two-run triple in the ninth inning to give the Harrisburg Senators a 5-4 win Sunday over the Akron Aeros in the Eastern League.
Akron scored two runs in the first inning on Grady Sizemore's RBI single and Victor Valencia's double-play groundout. Joe Inglett added an RBI single in the second to give the Aeros a 3-1 lead.
Harrisburg got sacrifice flies from Scott Ackerman in the second and Jeremy Ware in the third, and tied the score 3-3 in the seventh when Noah Hall grounded into a fielder's choice.
Akron took a 4-3 lead on Chris Magruder's RBI single in the eighth.
Chris Schroder (6-1) allowed one run on two hits in one inning for the win. Chad Bentz pitched the ninth for his sixth save.
Fernando Cabrera (7-3) allowed two runs on one hit in one inning for the loss.
Harness hall
GOSHEN, N.Y. -- Trainer-drivers Jim Doherty and Berndt Lindstedt and trainer Bob McIntosh were inducted in the Harness Racing Hall of Fame.
Two horses were inducted into the Hall on Sunday -- No Nukes, the sport's third all-time money-winning pacing sire, and Speedy Somolli, winner of the 1978 Hambletonian.
Doherty, 62, has won 4,493 races and $36.3 million in purses during his career, which included championships at several East Coast tracks.
The Swedish-born Lindstedt, 66, has won more than 3,000 races in Europe and North America.
McIntosh, 50, trained 1992 Horse of the Year Artsplace and 1993 Horse of the Year Staying Together in addition to Whenuwishuponastar, who was voted Canada's top horse in 1996.
Missouri's Clemonsinjured in accident
COLUMBIA, Mo. -- University of Missouri basketball player Ricky Clemons was in fair condition Sunday at University Hospital, after sustaining multiple injuries in an all-terrain vehicle accident.
Wally Bley of Columbia, Clemons' attorney, said Clemons suffered "a couple of fractured ribs, a punctured lung, a serious laceration on his chin and a serious laceration on his head" Friday at the home of Mizzou President Elson Floyd. According to university spokesman David Russell, Floyd was hosting a July 4 gathering of friends.
Clemons, a native of Raleigh, N.C., is a 5-foot 11 guard who transferred to Missouri last year from the College of Southern Idaho, a junior college. He started 32 games last season and averaged 14.2 points for the Tigers.
According to Russell, Clemons was driving the ATV when it overturned on a gravel road that leads to Floyd's residence.

Carter wins playoff
RICHMOND HILL, Ontario -- Tom Carter beat Jason Bohn in a playoff at the Canadian PGA Championship for his first Nationwide Tour victory on Sunday.
Carter rolled in a 15-foot putt for birdie on No. 18 to pull within one shot of Bohn, who bogeyed the final hole to force a playoff at DiamondBack Golf Club. Both golfers tied with a 275 total.
They played No. 18 again -- Carter parred it, and Bohn missed his par putt.
Price is champ by one
STRAFFAN, Ireland -- Phillip Price shot a 2-under 70 to win the European Open by one stroke.
Price finished at 16-under 272. Alastair Forsyth of Scotland and Mark McNulty of Zimbabwe shared second place after rounds of 68.
Ralf Schumacherclaims another title
MAGNY COURS, France -- Ralf Schumacher won the French Grand Prix on Sunday for his second straight Formula One victory.
Schumacher finished 13.8 seconds ahead Juan Pablo Montoya in the second consecutive 1-2 finish for Williams-BMW.
Michael Schumacher of Ferrari languished in fifth most of the race and finished third. Kimi Raikkonen was fourth, and David Coulthard placed fifth.
