HELOISE Systems helps her keep control of bills

Dear Heloise: I would like to add one step further to "Staying in control of bills." I have one folder in which I put my current bills. As the bills come in, I look for the date due (since they are in different places on the bills). I then place a small, bright-colored sticker with the due date on it and file it according to the due date in my current-bills folder. It has helped me tremendously to see that bright sticker with the due date in plain sight. Irma Waite, Orem, Utah
This is an eye-catching way to spot that due date - you can also use a bright highlighter to circle the date. Heloise
Dear Heloise: Need help to put on a bracelet? Place the opening on top of your wrist, tape it to your wrist and slip the clasp into the opening. It really works! Doris, Delray Beach, Fla.
Dear Heloise: I read your column in the Times newspaper in Indiana and enjoy all of your helpful hints. Here is one that I just love and hope it is a help to some of your beach-loving readers.
My husband and I go to Florida on vacation. I love to sit on the beach and read, and he is a woodcarver and enjoys carving on the beach. The resin chaise lounges that our condo furnishes get very hard if you sit on them for any time at all, so we came up with a great idea.
If you buy a child's small swim ring and inflate it, put it on the chair, then put your beach towel over it, you have a great cushion, and it sure makes sitting on the beach much more enjoyable. When you are done, just deflate it. It takes up no room in your luggage, and voil & aacute; -- you have a great beach seat. Shirley Donley, Crown Point, Ind.
Dear Heloise: My husband and I were cleaning out his convertible to trade it in for a minivan. He doesn't need his "chick car" anymore, because he has me!
His floor mats were nasty -- aren't they all! I went to get carpet cleaner and found we had none. So I grabbed the spray-foam bathroom cleaner. My plan was to spray the mats with the cleaner, sweep them off with a broom and then douse them in dishwashing liquid for a good hose-down. Imagine our surprise when just the cleaner and broom did the trick! Cathy Estep, Cleveland, Tenn.
Dear Heloise: My hands don't have the strength they used to, so I keep a nutcracker handy to open small bottles. Vera Meyer, Center Point, Iowa
