MLS/WUSA Crew goalie passes test, cools Burn down stretch

COLUMBUS -- Tom Presthus made a sprawling save in the second minute of stoppage time to preserve the Columbus Crew's 0-0 tie against the Dallas Burn on Saturday night.
Bobby Rhein's shot on a restart deflected off the end of the Crew's defensive wall to Presthus, who lunged to his right to make the save.
The Crew (5-5-4) had scoring chances in the 73rd and 90th minutes, but Brian McBride's headers went over the crossbar.
Brian Maisonneuve got his head on a Freddy Garcia cornerkick in the ninth minute of overtime, pushing it just to the left of the Burn goal.
Dallas (2-7-4) improved to 0-3-2 on the road, earning just its second point away from home this season.
MetroStars 3, D.C. United 2
WASHINGTON -- Sixteen-year-old Eddie Gaven, the second-youngest player in MLS history, scored his first career goal in the ninth minute of overtime to lift the MetroStars past D.C. United.
Gaven, who entered as a substitute goaltender in overtime, took a long pass along the left sideline from Amado Guevara, made a run down the wing, breezed past Ryan Nelson and scored on a left-footed shot that beat goalkeeper Nick Rimando from 8 yards.

UNIONDALE, N.Y. -- Jaclyn Raveia and Cheryl Salisbury scored three minutes apart to lead the New York Power to a 2-1 victory over the San Jose CyberRays on Saturday.
Raveia finished Justi Baumgardt's corner kick in the 57th minute to give the Power (6-7-2) a 1-0 lead. Cheryl Salisbury scored her first WUSA goal in the 60th minute to make it 2-0.
Spirit 1, Charge 1
VILLANOVA, Pa. -- Stacey Tullock scored her second goal of the season during second-half injury time to rally the Philadelphia Charge to a tie with the San Diego Spirit at Villanova Stadium in the WUSA.
Goalie Melissa Moore made four saves for Philadelphia (3-6-2), which finished the season series against San Diego with a 2-0-1 mark.
