CRIMESTOPPERS
Greater Youngstown
A warning about roving groups of kids is the focus of Crime Stoppers of Greater Youngstown this week:
Crime: Pranks and damage to lawns and landscaping and other vandalism.
Site: All communities, usually after dark. Notify police if you spot inappropriate behavior and note the time, because most communities have a curfew. In Youngstown, it's 11 p.m. for anyone under 18.
Details: Even though the acts are typically not monumental, it is irritating to find shrubs and ornaments, for example, rearranged or damaged, said Youngstown detective Sgt. Elrico Alli.
Description of subject: Not all juveniles out late cause problems, but residents should be on the lookout for kids not from their neighborhood.
Contact: Call Crime Stoppers collect at (330) 746-CLUE. Callers do not have to identify themselves.
Reward: Up to $1,000 is given for information leading to the arrest and indictment of people accused of felonies in Mahoning, Trumbull and Columbiana counties.
