CLASS B Rondinelli advances to finals
The league championship series will begin today with two games.
STRUTHERS -- Rondinelli Tuxedo outlasted Astro Falcons 10-9 in the final game of Saturday's Class B playoff series at Cene Park.
Rondinelli advances to play either Line Drive or Livi Steel in the best-of-5 championship series, which begins with a doubleheader today at 4 and 7.
Chris Harris went the first 4 1/3 innings to pick up the win, and Jason Metzka gave up one run in the seventh, but hung on to earn the save.
Scott Bender had three hits, including a triple, to lead Rondinelli, while John Sciullo and Josh Conkey added two hits.
For Astros, Adam Wigley had a double and two RBIs and Jim Eimiller added two RBIs.
Little b
In the Little b playoffs, Wolf Construction defeated Astro Falcons 7-6 to advance to the championship series.
Jesse Alfreno and Rob Sullivan led the Wolf attack with two hits apiece. Alfreno and Andy Chrobak doubled, while Andrew Browning was the winning pitcher and John Warren earned the save.
For Astro, Jonathan Grist and Josh McKenney each had two hits, Jesse D'Amico tripled and Jarred Bartholomew and Thomas Clayton doubled.
Wolf and Becdir will open the best-of-5 championship series with a doubleheader at 4 and 7 today at Cene Park.
