Babe Ruth playoffs (age 14-15)
Rondinelli Tuxedo 5, Astros 1 -- Rondinelli scored three runs in the bottom of the first inning on three hits to win the first game of a best-of-three series at Cene Park. Joe Iacobucci had two hits and scored a run. Jesse Moses also had two hits and added three RBIs. Corey Collins had an RBI and Matt Katich had a run. Matt Bable tossed a one-hitter with eight strikeouts. Calvin Clayton scored a run and pitched 6 1/3 innings of relief for Astros. Brian Wright added an RBI.
Line Drive Academy 13, Livi Steel 6 -- At Fitch High School, Line Drive collected 12 hits to take a one-game lead in the best-of-three series. Armani Johnson had a homer and four RBIs and Richie O'Brien added three doubles and four RBIs. Line Drive scored six runs in the top of the seventh to put it away. Nick Welsch had two doubles for Livi.
Tri-T Colt (15-17)
Austintown Artistic Images 4, Poland Spartan Chevrolet 3 -- Jason Lutz threw a five-hitter with nine strikeouts for Austintown. Nick Ritchie had two hits and two RBIs. Joe Burnich had an RBI triple and Mike Lyden added a hit and scored the winning run. For Poland, John Brauer pitched a six-hitter with 10 strikeouts and added a homer and a triple.
Struthers Davidson Becker 20, Boardman Boosters 10 -- Jim Farris and Mike Galletta each had three hits to lead Struthers. Brian Walton added two hits, including a double, and Skylar Slavik had a strong pitching performance. For Boardman, Matt Bestic and Matt Nolfi each homered.
