Thunderstorms cause problems in the area
NILES -- Thunderstorms knocked down power lines and left residents in the Nancy Street area without electricity for about 45 minutes Friday.
When storms rolled through the area around 5 p.m., Trumbull and Mercer counties caught the brunt of them, with trees reported down and minor flooding.
The Niles Police Department reported trees and high winds knocked down lines, but crews from the city's light department had the problems resolved quickly.
In Mercer County, heavy rains and hail caused some flooding, but officials reported no major problems.
Trumbull County's 911 Center received several calls of trees down in the northern part of the county.
No area police departments were investigating any injuries or major accidents from the storms.
