CLASS B PLAYOFFS Livi ties series with 6-1 victory



It will meet Line Drive Academy in the deciding game tonight at Cene Park.
STRUTHERS -- Livi Steel defeated Line Drive Academy 6-1 Thursday at Cene Park to tie their best-of-3 Class B playoff series at 1-1.
The two teams will play again tonight at Cene Park.
Mark Tanner pitched the first five innings to pick up the win for Livi. He allowed just one run on five hits and struck out four.
Phil Butch, Sean Lucas and Todd Kennedy had two hits each for the winners, who had doubles by Tim Novotny and Josh Geric.
Justin Byler took the loss in a complete-game effort for Line Drive. He allowed three earned runs while walking three and striking out three.
Line Drive committed three errors and left 11 men on base, including the bases loaded in the third and fifth innings.
The other game between Astro Falcons and Rondinelli was not completed in time for this edition.
Little b
Wolf Construction scored twice in the bottom of the seventh inning to defeat Astro Falcons 6-5 and tie their best-of-3 Class Little b playoff series at one win apiece.
Game 3 will be tonight at Cene Park.
Brandon Skoff hit an 0-2 pitch over the left-field fence to tie the game at 5-all, which was followed by a double off the bat of J.C. McCoy. After a walk to Jesse Alfredo, Andy Chrobak singled to plate the winning run.
Chroak got the win in relief and added two hits.
For Astros, Josh McKenney and Joe Irwin had two hits each along with Joe Rosco.
The other game between Becdir and Line Drive was not completed in time for this edition.
