SIDELIGHTS For all seniors



American Automobile Association-Seniors For Safe Driving, in conjunction with area businesses and organizations, is sponsoring Mature Operators Driver Improvement Programs during July for drivers 55 or older. The classes will be divided into two 31/2-hour sessions. Tuition varies, and class size is limited. Registration for the following class should be made as soon as possible: July 18 and 25 from 8:30 a.m. to noon at Lawrence County Learning Center, 131 Columbus Innerbelt, New Castle, Pa. SCOPE Lake Vista will have a satellite meeting at 10 a.m. Friday at the Lake Vista Club House on North Mecca Street. Cortland. Guests are asked to take an object that has been meaningful to them and a finger food to share.
Senior Center of Mahoning County, 1110 Fifth Ave., Youngstown, has planned the following activities: Monday, outing to Tara at 10 a.m. and bridge at 1 p.m.; Tuesday, oil painting at 10 a.m. and blood pressure screening at noon; Wednesday, watercolor class at 10 a.m., blood pressure screening at 12:30 p.m. and 500 card club at 1; Thursday, woodcarvers and TOPS at 9 a.m.; blood pressure screening at 10:30 and 1:30 p.m., square dancers picnic at Tod Park at 11 a.m., financial group and line dancing at 1 p.m. and investment club at 2; Friday, crafts at 12:30 p.m. The center has applications for the SBC telephone discount program.
