GARDEN FORUM Winners announced for flower show

YOUNGSTOWN -- The Garden Forum of the Greater Youngstown Area held its spring flower show June 14 and 15 at the D.D. and Velma Davis Education and Visitor Center in Fellows Riverside Gardens at Mill Creek MetroParks.
Jean Davidson was the chairwoman for the event, and serving as judges were Evelyn Resek and Margaret Mary Walsh.
Winners of blue ribbons in the horticulture division were Elsie DeHoff and Wilma Payne, Austintown; Millie Campean and Pearl Marlos, Gleaners; Bev Italiano, Ann Kwiecien, Marlene Menold, Mary Macyniski and Roxanne Macyniski, members-at large; Lynn Hoffman, Men's Garden Club; Dorothy Haddox, Our Lady of Fatima; Martha Murphy, St. Edward; Sheila Bowman, Salem; and Jean Davidson, Dorothy Fizet, Beverly Sharnek and Erma Adams, Sweetbriar.
Capturing blue ribbons for artistic design were Marlos, Silver Leaf; DeHoff, Austintown; and Mary Lou Flere, public entry.
The gold seal in horticulture went to Menold, member-at-large; Haddox, Our Lady of Fatima; Murphy, St. Edward, and to Marlos, Silver Leaf, who also won the gold seal in design.
