Dippity-Do gels with generations

You may not have heard of Dippity-Do, but we bet your parents have. The popular hair gel debuted in the 1960s and was the styling aid du jour for quite a while. It kind of faded away at some point, but it's back, with a hipper, sleeker look and a new line of products called Dippity-Do Techno-Style.
No doubt the company is trying to get in good with a new generation of hair-obsessed teens, with bright orange packaging and product names like "Stretch Putty" and "Radical Jelly." But with the addition of botanicals and extracts to pump up moisture and gloss, it sounds like some improvements have been made in the last few decades. (So ask your 'rents to try a dollop of "Radical Jelly" and compare it to the original.)
The Dippity-Do Techno-Style line includes five products -- gel, mousse, pomade, anti-frizz gel and sculpting putty. Look for the styling aids ($3 to $5) at drug stores, supermarkets and mass retailers such as Kmart and Target.
Hip hat
We're sort of in love with the new "My Name Is ..." hat from the uber-trendy Fred Flare. It's so lowbrow, with its mesh panel and super-thick foam front. (Kind of like those hats you get free on Hat Day at the local minor-league ballpark.) There's something that just says "truck stop" about it. But that's what makes it so great, don't you think?
And the real pi & egrave;ce de r & eacute;sistance is the embroidered "My Name Is ..." name-tag-style panel on the front, personalized with your name (or your pal's or your dad's). This cap has "generic" written all over it -- in a good way.
Order your personalized cap for $25 from www.fredflare.com. And in case you hadn't guessed, one size fits all.
