White Sox 8, Twins 6, 12 innings
CHICAGO -- Roberto Alomar scored the winning run in his White Sox debut, trotting home on Frank Thomas' second homer of the game. Pinch-hitter Paul Konerko hit a tying, solo homer with two outs in the 11th for the White Sox. Then in the 12th, Alomar walked with one out and Thomas homered with two outs. Alomar went 1-for-5 in the leadoff spot. Eddie Guardado (1-3) gave up Thomas' winning homer. Billy Koch (5-4) pitched the 12th to get the victory.
Blue Jays 8, Tigers 2
DETROIT -- Roy Halladay won his 12th straight decision and Carlos Delgado hit two solo home runs for Toronto. Delgado raised his RBIs total to 91 and Vernon Wells drove in four runs for the Blue Jays. Halladay allowed two runs on seven hits and no walks in seven innings. Adam Bernero (1-12) took his sixth straight loss.
Red Sox 5, Devil Rays 4
ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. -- Pedro Martinez pitched seven solid innings and Nomar Garciaparra, Trot Nixon and Kevin Millar homered to lead Boston. Martinez (6-2) allowed three unearned runs and six hits. Millar's two-run homer off Jesus Colome (1-4) snapped a 3-3 tie in the eighth. Garciaparra and Nixon hit solo homers and Jason Varitek added a RBI single to give Martinez a 3-0 lead.
Angels 5, Rangers 0
ANAHEIM, Calif. -- John Lackey pitched a four-hitter for his first major league shutout and Tim Salmon hit a two-run homer for Anaheim. Lackey (6-7) won consecutive starts for the first time this season. He retired his last 16 batters to earn his first complete-game victory in 36 regular-season starts and lowered his ERA from 5.47 to a season-best 5.01. The right-hander did not walk a batter and tied a career high with eight strikeouts -- including Alex Rodriguez his first three times up.
Mariners 13, Athletics 0
OAKLAND, Calif. -- Joel Pineiro pitched three-hit ball over eight innings to win his fourth straight start for Seattle. Bret Boone had two hits and drove in two runs and Dan Wilson went 4-for-5. Mike Cameron drove in three runs.

Cubs 1, Phillies 0
PHILADELPHIA -- Sammy Sosa homered on the first pitch of the ninth inning and four Chicago pitchers combined on a one-hitter as the Cubs snapped the Philadelphia Phillies' seven-game winning streak. Matt Clement, Mark Guthrie, Kyle Farnsworth and Joe Borowski teamed to stop the Phillies. Clement allowed a leadoff infield single in the fifth inning to David Bell.
Giants 4, Cardinals 1
ST. LOUIS -- Barry Bonds homered twice and scored three times, leading rookie Jerome Williams and the Giants. Bonds has 637 career home runs, 23 behind Willie Mays for third on the lifetime list. Bonds had his 63rd multihomer game, moving past Hank Aaron and matching Mays for third place. Bonds hit his 460th homer for the Giants on a low liner to right leading off the fourth, passing Mays for second on the San Francisco list and pulling nine behind Willie McCovey for first overall. He hit his 24th homer of the season against Jason Isringhausen leading off the ninth.
Braves 2, Marlins 1, 13 innings
MIAMI -- Rafael Furcal's leadoff homer in the 13th inning helped the Atlanta Braves avoid a three-game sweep with a win over the Florida Marlins. Marlins rookie left-hander Dontrelle Willis allowed only one run in eight innings, but failed to match a club record by winning his eighth straight start, leaving with the score tied at 1.
Expos 11, Mets 4
NEW YORK -- Brian Schneider and Edwards Guzman had two RBIs apiece as the Montreal Expos used a pair of five-run innings to beat the sloppy Mets. Livan Hernandez (7-6) settled down after a shaky start, holding New York scoreless over his final five innings to salvage the finale of the three-game series.
Rockies 6, Diamondbacks 2
DENVER -- Jason Jennings allowed only two hits in 62/3 scoreless innings, Jay Payton had three RBIs and the Colorado Rockies beat the Arizona Diamondbacks. Jennings (8-6) walked four and struck out three to win for the fifth time in his last six starts.
Brewers 5, Astros 3, 11 innings
HOUSTON -- Eric Young and Scott Podsednik each had RBI hits in the 11th inning to rally the Brewers. Ricky Stone (5-3), the eighth Astros pitcher, walked Keith Osik to start the 11th. Osik was sacrificed to second and later took third when pitcher Brooks Kieschnick grounded out as a pinch-hitter. Young followed with his second RBI single of the game, then scored on Podsednik's double.
Padres 4, Dodgers 3, 10 innings
LOS ANGELES -- Mark Loretta's single in the top of the 10th inning drove in Gary Matthews Jr., and a throwing error scored Mark Kotsay on the same play as San Diego beat Los Angeles. With one out and the score tied at 2, Matthews hit a broken-bat single off Eric Gagne (1-3), and advanced to second on a wild throw by third baseman Adrian Beltre. Kotsay was then walked intentionally. Loretta singled to left, and Mike Kinkade's throw home to get Matthews sailed wide and went to the backstop, allowing Kotsay to score to make it 4-2.
