The Howland school board welcomed Stephanie Shaw Tuesday as its newest member, replacing Eric Moore, whose job took him to Florida.
The board also accepted the retirement of Barbara Wright, principal at H.C. Mines Intermediate School and a district employee since 1970.
Three new teachers will begin their duties in August. Andrea Ferenac will replace Scott Smith, who is deceased, as high school science teacher.
