Kysers and Sobotas are honored at combined anniversary party



XA surprise party was held June 14 at the home of Laurel and Michael Sobota of Salem in honor of the couple's parents' anniversaries and the retirement of her mother.
Mrs. Sobota's parents, Loretta and Ronald Kyser of 3661 Lower Elkton Road, Leetonia, were celebrating their 40th wedding anniversary and her retirement from Columbiana High School, where she taught business and computer technology for 35 years.
Mr. Kyser and the former Loretta A. Foertch were married July 14, 1963, in Columbiana. He retired after 33 years with the NRM Corp. in Columbiana and three years at National Feedscrew Machinery in Massillon. He is a Civil War reenactor with the 41st Ohio Volunteer Infantry, Company K. His wife is a senior tax adviser with H & amp;R Block and is an independent Avon representative. The couple also are employed by the Cleveland Browns and are members of East Fairfield United Methodist Church. Their son and daughter-in-law, Paul and Laurie Kyser of Euclid, also hosted the festivities. Two granddaughters complete their family.
Mr. Sobota's parents, Anthony and Barbara Sobota, 40 Philrose Lane, Poland, were honored on the occasion of their 41st anniversary. They were married April 28, 1962, in Amridge, Pa. He is a retired professor from Youngstown State University. His wife, the former Barbara Modic, is a retired teacher from the Springfield Local School District.
The couple's other son and daughter-in-law, James and Shannon Sobota of Oakland, Mich., also hosted the event.
The Sobotas have three grandchildren and attend St. Paul Catholic Church in New Middletown.
