Injured Jackson keys Storm to 83-71 win
CHARLOTTE, N.C. (AP) -- Lauren Jackson refused to let her injured foot keep her from leading the Seattle Storm to a victory.
Jackson, cleared to play earlier in the day after missing Seattle's previous game, scored 22 points Monday night as the Storm beat the Charlotte Sting 83-71 in the WNBA's only scheduled game.
Jackson, the WNBA's leading scorer with a 19.1 average, missed Saturday's loss to Indiana with a sore right foot. She was cleared to play Monday after an MRI was negative.
She scored 18 points in the second half, including six in a 17-5 run that gave Seattle a 75-62 lead with 2:30 to go.
Kamila Vodichkova added 15 points, while Adia Barnes and Amanda Lassiter each had 12 for Seattle (8-6).
