Youngstown residential garbage collection will be affected by the July Fourth holiday. People who normally put trash out tonight should place it at the curb Friday night for Saturday collection. Incorrect information provided to The Vindicator earlier this week by Youngstown's Department of Public Works indicated that collection would not be affected.
WCI Steel spokesman Tim Roberts said the company's decision not to make a $15 million interest payment due Tuesday was based on several factors, including its bank lenders' insistence that payment not be made. He said the nonpayment wasn't because WCI didn't have the cash available, as reported in some editions Wednesday.
