Fireworks in Ohio
CONSUMER FIREWORKS
(FORMERLY CLASS C FIREWORKS)
Specifically permitted: Sparklers, trick noisemakers and novelties. Fireworks may be sold to Ohio residents after filling out a form agreeing to take the items out of the state within 48 hours, or to out-of-state residents agreeing to take the items out of the state within 72 hours.
DISPLAY FIREWORKS
(FORMERLY CLASS B FIREWORKS)
Display permits are obtained through local authorities.
Insurance is $1 million minimum.
Operator must have state license and must be 21 years of age. Operator must take written test, pay a $50 fee and apply to state fire marshal.
Licensing: Manufacturer, wholesaler or out-of-state shipper license required. Must apply annually to state fire marshal.
