Canfield Southeastern Equipment 10, Poland Campbell Electric 4 -- Drew Turocy's two hits included a grand slam. Mike Hoelzel had two doubles while D.J. Haurin had two hits. For Poland, pitcher Lou Coppola struck out 11 batters.
Canfield Southeastern Equipment 6, Boardman R & amp;J Trucking 3 -- D.J. Haurin had two hits while Joey Carbon was the winning pitcher, tossing a complete game. For Boardman, Geoff Marple's two hits included a home run.

Girard FOP 12, Champion 4 -- Mike Cramer paced a 12-hit attack with two hits, one a double and Justin Markota singled twice. Champion got two hits, one a triple, from Mark Toriello.
Warren 8, Girard FOP 7 -- Chris Owens had three hits while Steve Komara and Ken Thoma each had two hits. Mike Grumley had a single and a double while Tom Williams had two hits for Girard.
Girard FOP 4, Howland 2 -- Rob Delisio threw a five-hitter with four strikeouts. Nick Santisi had two hits and Gary Chaney doubled. For Howland, Doug Draa had a single and a double.
Babe Ruth (14-15)
Rondinelli Tuxedo 3, Line Drive 2 -- Mike Bable had two hits including a triple in the last of the seventh to win it.
Rondinelli Tuxedo 11, Commercial Neon 2 -- Joe Iacobucci, Matt Bable and Mike Hoelzel each had three hits. For Commercial, Jim Salfreno had three hits.
Howland 8-15, Central Optical 3-5 -- In the opener, Josh Swipas had three hits including a homer, a double and five RBIs. In the nightcap, Tony Pozega, Jeff Musick, Zach Russell and T.J. Stoian each had two hits. Dave Diyorio led Central with three hits, one a homer.
Belleria Pizza 9, Astros 6 -- Jeremy Savaet and Andy Richey each had two hits for the winners. Brian Wright led the Astros with a triple.
Babe Ruth (13)
Line Drive 4, Rondinelli 1 -- Dan Kubala pitched five innings and Mike Popio two innings for Line Drive. Joe Strawinski had two RBIs. Jon Tatarka, Joe Strawinski and Mike Lower had hits. With the score tied 1-1 since the second inning, Kubala scored in the seventh on a hit by Joe Strawinski. Tatarka then scored on a suicide squeeze with Mike Lower laying down the bunt in the seventh inning. Strawinski scored the final run. For Rondinelli, Dan Banna pitched the complete game. Andrew Grzebieniak got on base with a hit in the second inning and scored on a Jason Ferguson hit. Anthony Gromada and Dan Banna each had one hit.

Valley Sting (14-younger)
The Valley Sting Purple 14U fastpitch team added another championship title this past weekend at the Loudonville Invitational in Loudonville. Sting started with a 4-3 loss to Grand Slam, then defeated West Holmes 10-0, the Hilliard Cats White 11-0, Double Play 3-1 and the Ashland Flames 2-1 to move into the semi-finals. Markie Pozzuto of Mecca pitched a three-hitter with 15 strikeouts in the Ashland Flames game. Caitlyn Youngs of Fowler fired a three-hitter with eight strikeouts as Sting Purple defeated Sting Green 8-0 in the semifinal game. Pozzuto and Young combined on a four-hitter in the championship game as Sting Purple came away with a 3-1 win over Grand Slam of North Canton. The hitting leaders for the weekend included Kari Thompson of Boardman (13 hits and 12 RBIs), Allie Patton of Poland (nine hits and eight runs scored) and Youngs (eight hits). Sting Purple's record is 55-4 with eight tournament titles.
