LIGONIER, PA. Bus driver charged with assault in spanking of two teenagers
LIGONIER, Pa. (AP) -- A school bus driver faces charges of assault over accusations that he spanked two teenagers after saying he saw a videotape of them having sex on a bus.
Robert Lemmon, 49, of Ligonier, a driver in the Ligonier Valley School District, told the teenagers he viewed the videotape and then accidentally destroyed it, state police said. Lodestar Bus Lines, where Lemmon works, routinely tapes pupils as they ride buses, police said.
The pupils, who did not ride on his bus, reportedly told Lemmon they would be spanked if their parents found out. Lemmon told them he would spank them "since he covered it up," according to an arrest warrant affidavit.
Lemmon then reportedly took the girl to a camp July 24 in Westmoreland County, about 40 miles southeast of Pittsburgh, where he forced her to take off her pants and underwear and spanked her. The boy went to the camp three hours later, and the same was done to him, police allege.
Lemmon was arraigned Friday on charges of assault, endangering the welfare of children, corruption of minors and invasion of privacy. He was free on $10,000 bond.
His home phone rang unanswered Monday morning, and he could not be reached for comment by The Associated Press.
