SANDLOTS Line Drive rolls past Roth Brothers, 15-3
Wharmby Sports clinched the final Connie Mack berth by beating Express.
STRUTHERS -- Line Drive Academy used a 16-hit attack in a 15-3 victory over Roth Brothers in Class B League action Sunday at Cene Park.
The league leaders improved to 23-3.
Mike Turjanica had three hits, including two doubles and three RBIs.
Jon Zizzo had two doubles, Chris Tremblay a home run and a single, Dan Ford two hits and four RBIs, and Craig Dobos had two hits.
For Roth (7-19), Joe McCrackin had two hits, Steve Ripple a triple and Anthony Zembillas a double.
Wharmby Sports 9, Youngstown Express 3
Wharmby clinched fifth place and the final Connie Mack Tournament spot with the win.
Pat Oman had three hits, including a triple while Dustin Kulka and Brian Smith had three hits each for Wharmby.
Brian Sansom (2-1) went the first six innings for the win on the mound, allowing just two earned runs. He walked one and struck out seven.
For the Express (3-23), Mike Simpson had three hits, including a double.
Astro Falcons 6, Rondinelli Tuxedo 5
Astros won to take over second place at 20-6.
Frank Turocy went 61/3 innings on the mound for the win to go to 3-0. He had four strikeouts and walked three while adding two singles at the plate.
Dan Bertolini had two hits, including a double, for the winners.
For Rondinelli (19-7), Mike DeNiro and John Sciullo had two hits each; DeNiro and Greg Rohan had doubles.
Mark Seddon (2-2) did not allow an earned run in his four innings of work on the mound.
