Philecia Smith, J.T. Carpenter III are engaged

XYOUNGSTOWN -- Sherri Smith, 958 Winona Drive, is announcing the engagement of her daughter, Philecia Sherri Smith of the same address, and James T. Carpenter III, a son of James and Deborah Carpenter, all of 6640 Mill Creek Blvd., Boardman.
Miss Smith graduated from Youngstown State University with an associate degree in information technology. She is a secretary with Mahoning County Educational Service Center.
Mr. Carpenter earned a bachelor's degree in business administration at John Carroll University in University Heights. He is an investment representative with First Place Investment Services.
The couple are planning an open wedding that will take place in May 2004 at Mount Calvary Pentecostal Church.
