CLASS B LEAGUE Line Drive corrals 22nd behind Wargacki's arm



Line Drive clinched the top seed for the playoffs for the second year in a row.
STRUTHERS -- Line Drive scored six times in the sixth to defeat Youngstown Express 8-2 in the Class B League Saturday.
Line Drive won their 22nd game of the year, clinching the top seed for the playoffs for the second straight year.
Jake Wargacki pitched a complete game to win his fifth straight on the season. He struck out six, walked one and allowed just one earned run.
Justin Byler, Jonathan Habuda and Matt Madrid each had two hits for Line Drive. One of Byler's hits was a triple.
Habuda and Mike Turjanica had two RBI singles in the six run sixth inning. Adan Harvey of Express (3-22) hit a double and a single.
Astro Falcons 8,Youngstown Propane 1
Astro won to move back into a second place tie with Rondinelli at 19-6.
Bill Christian, Adam Wigley, and Mike Pulakos had two hits each for Astros, while David Sayre (3-0) got the win in relief. Christain and Dan Bertolini had two RBIs each.
Eric Cullen had a double and Anthony Musolino two singles for Propane (2-23).
Wharmby 1, Becdir 0
Wharmby (13-12) scored an unearned run on a throwing error in the bottom of the seventh inning for the win to take a two game lead in the race for fifth place and the final Connie Mack tournament berth.
Greg Mentrek (4-2) pitched a complete-game three hit shutout, with seven strikeouts and one walk. Pat Oman had two hits.
Brian Sterling (1-4) of Becdir (11-14) took the loss. He pitched a complete game, struck out 10 and walked one. Joe O'Hara hit a double.
Lazart 14, Roth Brothers 13
Lazart (11-14) remained alive for the Connie Mack. Rick DiMuzio and Matt Lutz had three hits each, while Nate Shaw had two hits. Drew Hazel (3-2) got the win in relief.
Joe McCrackin of Roth hit a home run and a triple and and drove in three runs. Bobby Dubovec hit a single, double and triple. Nate Schaefer and Tony Zembillas each had two hits each for Roth (7-18).
Livi Steel 5, Rondinelli 4
Livi Steel (18-7) scored two runs in the bottom of the seventh inning to complete its comeback. Sean Lucas' third single tied the game at 4 all and a single off the bat of Mark Tanner scored Phil Butch with the winning run.
Butch had three singles and Tanner had two hits. Fred Battisti (2-2) got the win in relief. Rondinelli (19-6) Gary Bucuren and Ryan Hallapy had solo home runs for Rondinelli (19-6). Losing pitcher Josh Conkey had a double. Mike DeNiro added two singles.
