CLASS B LEAGUE Tanner fans 11 in Livi's victory



Mark Tanner gained his fourth win while Mike Holmes got his second save.
STRUTHERS -- Mark Tanner struck out 11 Astro Falcon batters as Livi Steel won 3-0 in the Class B League on Friday at Cene Park. Tanner (4-1) walked three and allowed three hits in his six innings of work for Livi (17-7).
Mike Holmes pitched a scoreless seventh for his second save.
Livi scored one run in the first when Phil Butch led off with a walk, stole second, moved to third on a wild pitch and scored on a single by Mike Busin. Livi scored two unearned runs in the sixth inning.
For Astro Falcons (18-6), Brett Seybert went the first four innings and took the loss, his first in five decisions, while Brett Parks had two singles.
Rondinelli 4, Roth 2
Rondinelli (19-5) moved into sole possession of second place in the standings. Ryan Hallapy had two singles for Rondinelli, while Reid Lamport picked up his third win on the year. He went the first four innings, allowing one run on three hits while striking out four.
Jason Metzka pitched two scoreless innings and Josh Conkey pitched the seventh and got his first save. Mike DeNiro and Greg Rohan had doubles, while Gary Bucuren had a triple.
Kyle Irish (1-4) went the distance for Roth (7-17) allowing three earned runs with two strikeouts, and he added a double.
Wharmby Sports 17, Lazart 1
Wharmby (12-12) pounded out 20 hits and took over sole possession of fifth place and the final Connie Mack tournament spot.
Mike DeCola had three hits, including a double, while winning-pitcher Dustin Kulka (3-0) had a double, two singles and four RBIs.
DeCola allowed just two hits and no earned runs. Paul Namey had a triple and a single and three RBIs.
For Lazart (10-14), Chris Aracich and Dan DeLuca had singles.
Line Drive Academy 8, Becdir 2
Line Drive (21-3) used a five-run fifth inning to put the game away.
Cole Budinsky (3-1) picked up the win in relief. He allowed just two runs in five innings of work, giving up two hits while striking out two and walking four. Dan Ford had a double, while Matt Madrid and Budinsky had two run-scoring singles in the fifth. For Becdir (11-13), Jeff Kotel had a double.
Youngstown Propane 16, Youngstown Express 5
Propane picked up its second win of the season. Brandon Wilds (1-3) got the win as he struck out six.
Craig Osborne had two doubles and three RBIs, while Brett Bartholomew had three hits.
For the Express (3-21), Brett Neely had two hits and Anthony Rossodivita had a triple.
