SCHOOL INSURANCE | What it covers

Excess bodily injury that is not covered by insurance and exceeds $25,000, paid to the victim or victim's family, up to $100,000 per violent act.
Deaths of pupils, employees, board members, student teachers or graduate-teaching assistants and authorized volunteers, $50,000 each, payable to victim's family. Payments are not given to attackers or perpetrators or their families.
Group trauma counseling by an outside firm as medically necessary and within 60 days of the attack.
Extra security required by an outside firm within 30 days of the violent act.
Substitute teachers needed within 30 days of the act.
Extra costs of transporting pupils to other buildings, limited to 30 days after the violent act.
Any emergency-medical-technician charges caused by the attack.
Other details:
The maximum benefit to be paid out in the first year after an attack is $1 million.
Cost would vary by district. Examples are $1,750 in the Joseph-Badger district, $2,069 in Salem, $2,075 in Poland, $3,435 in Boardman and $4,662 in Warren.
