Judge approves saleof American Paper
YOUNGSTOWN -- Judge William Bodoh approved the sale of American Paper Products to Our Sunday Visitor in bankruptcy court Tuesday.
Our Sunday Visitor, an Indiana publisher and envelope maker, was to take over the operations of the Boardman envelope maker today. Our Sunday Visitor was the only company to make an offer for the company by a deadline last week.
American Paper, which employs 330, is the largest maker of church offertory envelopes in the country.
Utility advocate offershelp in comparing rates
COLUMBUS -- The Ohio Consumers' Counsel, a residential utility advocate, offers interactive calculators that help consumers compare rates of natural gas suppliers to their natural gas company. The calculators are available at www.pickocc.org.
Consumers enter the current rate of a natural gas supplier in the calculator, their county sales tax and their monthly natural gas usage to receive a cost comparison of different suppliers.
Lake Vista projectadds housing units
CORTLAND -- Construction is under way on an apartment and assisted-living complex that will dramatically increase the number of housing units at Lake Vista retirement community.
The $10 million to $12 million project will contain 37 apartments and 36 assisted-living units designed for suffers from Alzheimer's and dementia, said Theresa Ryhal, housing administrator.
The apartments will rent for $1,650 a month, including all taxes, utilities, transportation and some meals.
There are 20 private villas on Lake Vista's Mecca Street property and another four under construction, she said. There is room on the property for 25 more villas.
Lake Vista is owned by Ohio Presbyterian Retirement Services, which is based in Columbus.
