Planners approve addition at store

COLUMBIANA -- The city planning commission approved a 5,000-square-foot addition to the Sparkle Market in the plaza at state Routes 14, 46 and 164. Bob Belding, city building and zoning officer, said the company is also renovating the interior of the building. Plans are to add on to the east and north sides of the building, he said. Belding said the new plaza anchored by Dollar General at Route 14 and Windjammer Drive has one of four suites remaining to be filled. Dollar General is now open for business, he said.
The planning commission approved site plans for Salem Internal Medicine Associates. Belding said about four Salem area physicians will have offices in the suite in the plaza.
Belding said the planning commission also approved a site plan in the Dollar General plaza for Vicki Messer. Messer will operate Organic Wonder, an organic foods store and deli. He said Messer will offer a variety of organically grown produce, as well as soups, sandwiches, milk and meat products. Belding said customers can dine in the store's cafe or order items for takeout.
The planning commission also approved a site plan at 204 North Main St., a downtown storefront. Terri Burt will locate the business office for Blue Moon Express, her truck dispatching service, at the site, Belding said.
