Barnes & amp; Noble events
BOARDMAN -- On Monday night at 7:30, there will be a meeting for the expectant mothers group at Barnes & amp; Noble Booksellers. The workshop "It's Positive, Now What?" will feature Pam Martin, MS, MT, CD. On Thursday night at 7, the store will sponsor an Open Mic Poetry Night. All are welcome to participate.
On Saturday at 2 p.m., author James M. Toto will be signing copies of his book "Places in the Heart."
The Focus on Fiction writing workshop will meet on Sunday, Jan. 26 at 4 p.m.
Poetry Reading
PITTSBURGH, Pa. -- The International Poetry Forum will present award-winning poet and translator Rebecca Seiferle on Feb. 5 at 8 p.m. at the Carnegie Lecture Hall in Pittsburgh.
Seiferle's third poetry collection, "Bitters," won a Pushcart Prize. Her previous collection, "The Music We Dance To," won the 1998 Cecil Hemley Award from the Poetry Society of America and poems from the collection were included in "Best American Poetry 2000." Her first book, "The Ripped-Out Seam," won the Bogin Award from the Poetry Society of America, the National Writers' Union Prize and was a finalist for the Paterson Poetry Prize.
Seiferle teaches English and creative writing at San Juan Community College in Farmington, New Mexico.
