NORFOLK, Va. -- Kara Lawson scored 19 points to lead fifth-ranked Tennessee to victory over Old Dominion and give Pat Summitt her 798th career coaching victory. The Lady Vols (10-3), coming off a 63-62 overtime loss at No. 3 Connecticut on Saturday, had little trouble with the Lady Monarchs (4-5), now 9-27 in the series. Summitt's victory total is sixth among all coaches in men's or women's college basketball. She's lost 161 times. Okeisha Howard led Old Dominion with 20 points.
No. 21 UC Santa Barbara 73, CS Northridge 41
SANTA BARBARA, Calif. -- Lindsay Taylor scored 19 points to lead UC Santa Barbara to its 15th consecutive home win and 29th straight over Big West Conference opponents. The Gauchos (8-2, 2-0) held the Matadors (0-13, 0-2) to 19 points in the second half. Lisa Willett had 15 points and eight rebounds for Santa Barbara. Freshman Ofa Tulikihihifo had 15 points Northridge.
No. 22 Villanova 62, Virginia Tech 60
VILLANOVA, Pa. -- Katie Davis matched a season high with 26 points, and made five free throws in the final 43 seconds as Villanova held on. It was the fifth straight victory for the Wildcats (11-1, 2-0 Big East). Erin Gibson had 17 points and Kerri Gardin a season-high 15 points and 10 rebounds for the Hokies (10-3, 1-1), who had won four in a row. Davis was 8-for-11 from the field and 8-for-9 from the line. It was her sixth game with more than 20 points this season.
