The fabric of American life has become increasingly diverse since the Norman Rockwell image of the "picture-perfect" American family of the 1950s and '60s. Today, the rigid boundaries of race, gender and culture that were once so clear have all but faded into oblivion. In a three-day series, The Vindicator is exploring the opportunities our increasingly diverse population provides and offering a glimpse into lifestyles that might have met with great resistance 50 years ago and in some circles, still do. Things have changed, for sure. But have the prejudices gone away or merely moved into hiding?
