5 injured in bar fight
STRUTHERS -- Five people were injured in a fight at The Bowery Saturday after a customer used money sitting on the bar to pay for drinks. According to police reports, a man ordered several shots shortly after 2 a.m. and then placed money to pay for the drinks on top of money another customer had sitting on the bar. When the second customer asked to be reimbursed for the money the man ordering the shots used, a fight broke out. Three other patrons and a 25-year-old female bartender became involved when they tried to break up the fight. The bartender was struck over the head with a bottle; the other four victims were also struck with beer bottles and glasses. The suspect had left the scene when police arrived. All victims refused medical treatment.
