Carlow College used a late rally to beat Geneva.
NEW WILMINGTON, Pa. -- The Westminster College women's basketball team snapped a three-game losing streak with a 70-60 victory over Allegheny College on Thursday.
Allegheny cut its deficit to 55-52 with 5:22 left, but could not get any closer as Westminster closed the game with a 15-8 run.
Sophomore forward Erica Tallo had team-highs in five categories for the Titans: points (19), rebounds (13), assists (four), blocks (four) and steals (four). Her point and block totals set new career-highs.
Allegheny was paced by Caitlin Murtagh with 16 points.
Carlow College 52, Geneva 47
PITTSBURGH -- Carlow College scored the final eight points of the game to rally for an American Mideast Conference victory.
Jessica Opyrchal led Carlow with 21 points.
Jen Rawding scored 17 points to lead Geneva (7-9, 0-5).
Penn State Behrend 57, Hiram 47
HIRAM -- Amber Krumpe scored nine first-quarter points and finished with 14 points and nine rebounds for Penn State Behrend (6-5).
Sophomore Theresa Rhoads scored 12 points to lead Hiram (1-10), which has lost five straight.
Men
BUFFALO -- Daemen College held visiting Geneva to just 36 percent shooting from the field en route to a 78-68 victory in American Mideast Conference men's basketball action Thursday.
Brian Montanaro scored 22 points for Daemen, which took a 36-29 halftime lead.
Stefan Gundberg led three Geneva (7-9, 1-2) players in double figures with 15 points.
