Group promotes youths
CANFIELD -- Camp Fire USA Northeast Ohio Council is seeking speaking engagements for its chief executive officer, Barbara Smith. Smith is promoting Absolutely Incredible Kid Day to take place March 20. On that day the organization would like to see every child receive a love-affirming letter.
Camp Fire also has been an advocate for the passage of the Younger Americans Act, a bill that would create a national youth policy incorporating positive outcomes of youth development and provide funding to organizations with proven results to expand services.
The council provides programming to youths and families in Ashtabula, Cuyahoga, Geauga, Lake, Lorain, Mahoning, Medina, Portage, Summit and Trumbull counties. For information, call the council at (888) 533-4426.
