Ursuline's Irizarry featured in high school all-star game



SAN ANTONIO (AP) -- Louis Irizarry of Ursuline High blocked a punt to set up a 31-yard field goal, and scored a safety when he tackled the West punter in the end zone, to help the East to a 47-3 rout of the West in the U.S. Army All-American Bowl Sunday night.
Quarterback Chris Leak, of Charlotte, N.C., threw TDs of 70, 30 and 7 yards in the game which featured some of the highest-rated high school players in the country.
Leak, who set a national high-school record with 185 career touchdown passes and verbally committed to Florida at halftime, finished with 165 yards passing.
Andre Caldwell of Tampa returned the free kick 53 yards and Leak threw a 30-yard touchdown to Adarius Bowman of Chattanooga, Tenn., on the next play as the East scored 12 straight points late in the second quarter and led 19-3 at halftime.
Sean Bailey of Alphareta, Ga., caught touchdowns of 42 and 7 yards for the East.
The East had 377 yards of total offense, 273 of that in the air. The West had 98 yards and seven first downs.
