MEN'S COLLEGE BASKETBALL No. 3 Duke stays undefeated and hands Clemson first loss

CLEMSON, S.C. -- J.J. Redick scored 22 points and third-ranked Duke beat Clemson 89-71 Sunday night in a matchup of unbeaten teams.
The Blue Devils moved to 9-0 for the third straight season and won their 14th straight over the Tigers (9-1) in the Atlantic Coast Conference opener for both.
Duke, Connecticut and Wake Forest are the only undefeated teams remaining in Division I.
With No. 1 Alabama losing at Utah last Monday night and second-ranked Pittsburgh losing at Georgia the next day, the door was open for undefeated Duke to reach No. 1 in the AP poll for the sixth consecutive season.
The Blue Devils finished with a season-high 11 3-pointers.
Edward Scott had 28 points for the Tigers, who were off to their best start since going 11-0 in 1995-96.
No. 7 Texas 80,Mount St. Mary's 64
AUSTIN, Texas -- Sydmill Harris and Brian Boddicker each scored 14 points for the Longhorns.
James Thomas grabbed 16 rebounds for Texas (9-2), which dominated the boards 52-35 and forced 24 turnovers.
Jamion Christian led Mount St. Mary's (5-4) with 12 points and Kiel Butler scored 10.
Freshman Brad Buckman had 11 points and 13 rebounds for Texas, his first career double-double.
No. 15 Creighton 84, Drake 63
OMAHA, Neb. -- Kyle Korver scored 23 points and the Bluejays (11-1, 2-0 Missouri Valley Conference) bounced back from their first loss of the season with the easy win.
Korver, coming off a career-high 32 points in Tuesday's loss to No. 19 Xavier, made his first five shots from the field and finished 7-for-9.
Greg Danielson had 14 points and 11 rebounds for Drake (5-8, 0-2).
Georgia 89, No. 21 LSU 63
ATHENS, Ga. -- Ezra Williams scored 25 points and Jarvis Hayes had 20 as the Bulldogs registered their second straight victory over a Top 25 team.
Georgia (9-3), which beat second-ranked Pittsburgh 79-67 last Tuesday, has won eight straight.
Jaime Lloreda had 17 points for the Tigers (9-2), who had won seven in a row.
It was the Southeastern Conference opener for both teams.
Loyola of Chicago 67, Wright St. 56
CHICAGO -- Paul McMillan had 21 points, 15 rebounds as Loyola led most of the way in a Horizon League game.
Both teams shot poorly, with the Ramblers making 21-of-59 (36 percent) and the Raiders making 19-of 59 (32 percent).
Loyola (6-9, 2-1 Horizon) closed the first half with an 8-0 run to take a 32-23 lead.
The Raiders never came within six points after that.
Seth Doliboa led Wright State (6-5, 0-1) with 26 points, but hit only 9-of-28 field goal attempts. Vernard Hollins had 20 points for the Raiders, but the rest of the team managed only 10 among them.
David Bailey had 12 points for Loyola to back McMillan. Demetrius Williams grabbed 13 rebounds.
