WOMEN'S TOP 25 No. 4-rated Kansas State rolls to 12th



MANHATTAN, Kan. (AP) -- Nicole Ohlde had 26 points and eight rebounds and Kendra Wecker scored 23 Friday as No. 4 Kansas State beat Western Illinois, 84-40.
Kansas State (12-1) dominated early and never trailed on the way to winning its seventh straight game. The Wildcats, who led by as many as 47, have won their last nine at home.
Ohlde and Wecker combined for 22 of Kansas State's 34 second-half points. Ohlde was 10-of-12 from the field.
Brie Madden added 10 points and seven rebounds for Kansas State. Becky Tyo scored 11 points for Western Illinois (7-5) while Tugba Palazoglu added 10.
Good defense
Kansas State held the Westerwinds without a field goal for the first 3:47 of the game, and quickly took a 9-0 lead with 16:32 remaining. During the first 11 minutes of the game, Kansas State forced nine turnovers and had more points off turnovers (15) then Western Illinois had total points (12).
The Wildcats led 50-23 at halftime. Kansas State forced 25 turnovers, 15 in the first half.
Kansas State shot a season-high 63 percent from the floor and held the Westerwinds to just 33 percent.
