Davis pours in 29; Cavs snap 14-game road losing streak

Ricky Davis connected on two free throws with 2.2 seconds left as Cleveland beat Toronto, 81-80.
TORONTO (AP) -- Ricky Davis wanted to be the one responsible for ending Cleveland's 14-game road losing streak.
Davis scored 29 points, including two free throws with 2.2 seconds remaining, as the Cavaliers beat the spiraling Toronto Raptors 81-80 on Friday night.
"I tried to take over at the end," Davis said. "When the pressure is on, you have to deliver."
Davis had 13 points in the fourth quarter, including nine straight at one point. He finished 11-for-26 from the field with six rebounds, five assists and six turnovers.
"Ricky came in and did what a go-to guy does," Cleveland coach John Lucas said. "He's developed into a go-to guy that wins games."
Alvin Williams had 25 points for the Raptors, who have lost nine straight and 16 of 18.
"This is frustrating because this is one of the worst teams in the league," Williams said.
Cavs win seventh
The lottery-bound Cavaliers improved to 7-27, while the Raptors fell to 8-25.
Cleveland's Darius Miles made three costly turnovers in the final five minutes, but Davis' two free throws cut Toronto's lead to one point with 1:08 left.
After Toronto's Alvin Williams missed a jumper and Zydrunas Ilgauskas blocked Jerome Williams' dunk attempt, Dajuan Wagner in-bounded the ball to Davis with less than 10 seconds left. Davis, covered by Alvin Williams, went to the basket and was fouled by Antonio Davis.
Davis made the two free throws to give Cleveland an 81-80 lead.
"I tried to draw a foul," Davis said. "It's a great feeling to come out and handle the pressure."
Miles then stole Morris Peterson's in-bounds pass to seal the victory for the Cavaliers, who also beat the Raptors at home on Dec 11.
Was first since 1984
The Cavaliers hadn't lost 14 straight on the road since losing a franchise-record 16 in a row in 1984.
"We had some bad turnovers down the stretch and the pressure bothered us, but it was a big win," Lucas said. "We really needed it."
Toronto's Antonio Davis had 14 points and eight rebounds in his first appearance after missing 13 games with a swollen right knee. Injured All-Star Vince Carter missed his 23rd game this season.
Davis made a 16-foot jumper just before the buzzer to give Cleveland a 47-45 halftime lead.
